Biography

From Newfoundland to Memphis
from Memphis to Newfoundland

The first type of music Albert had a great interest
in was during the early to mid 70's listening to rock and roll
singers such as Roy Orbison, Ricky Nelson
and CCR.He also had an interest to the
sound of Newfoundlands' own Dick Nolan,
Roy Payne, The Dorymen and the Newfoundland Showband. This was before
Albert's Journey to this day paying tribute to the king of rock
and roll who opened the doors for many
singers of all races
and types of music known as Elvis Presley.

"Without Elvis we would not have known The Beatles"; by Albert Murphy
"A Vocalist is not known by their Apparel; but by their Ability to Sing"; by Albert Murphy

The first time Albert heard Elvis Presley's voice was the
month of July 1976  as he was walking around Parkers Cove, NL;
when he saw a young-fellow washing his car and all the car doors
were opened and Albert heard the song "Jailhouse Rock"
beating out of his car speakers loudly and Albert could
feel the electricity from the song thinking to himself
"that the music was cool and wanted to be part of this music"
